Brighton-based auto supplier Fortech Products Inc. said Tuesday that it plans to build an 8,000-square-foot warehouse addition to its headquarters.
The company, which manufactures corrosion-resistant coatings and metal-forming lubricants, last year moved from its 40,000-square-foot Whitmore Lake base to a new, 80,000-square-foot building that sits on 27 acres. The move nearly tripled the company’s production capacity and expanded its research and development laboratories, Fortech CEO Creighton Forester said.
The company spent more than $3.2 million to equip the Brighton facilities and expects to spend $100,000 on the warehouse expansion.
Forester said that Fortech’s sales grew more than 25 percent in the past year and that he expects further increases in its aftermarket sales of corrosion-resistant lubricants.
Fortech employs 45 in Brighton and has a plant and lab in Sao Paolo, Brazil.
